Spring 2026
Learning Spanish, Building Relationships, Serving the World
Welcome to our Spring 2026 Newsletter! Over the past few months, we have had the privilege of welcoming students and families from different parts of the world, sharing unforgettable experiences, and celebrating important milestones together. From language learning and cultural immersion to mission preparation and community building, God continues to work through CISA in remarkable ways. We are grateful for each student, family, staff member, and supporter who is part of this journey, and we are excited to share some of the highlights from this season with you.

Coffee Tour Experience
One of the highlights included in every CISA program is our Coffee Tour. This unique experience allows students to learn about every step of the coffee-making process, from the coffee plant to the final cup.
During the tour, students have the opportunity to practice their Spanish, learn about Costa Rican agriculture, and taste several varieties of coffee produced on our farm.
Café Misión is a sister organization of CISA, and a portion of its proceeds helps support the ministry and community projects of La Misión. It is always a joy to share this important part of Costa Rican culture with our students.
Celebrating the Curriston Family
At the beginning of April, we had the privilege of graduating the Curriston family after three months of study at CISA.
Michael, a medical doctor, came with a desire to learn as much Spanish as possible in preparation for their future mission work. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning made them a wonderful part of our community.
It was a blessing to have them with us, and we are excited to see how God will use their new language skills in ministry opportunities ahead.

Congratulations to the Maycroft Family
In mid-April, we celebrated the graduation of the Maycroft family from Michigan after six months of study at CISA.
This wonderful family quickly became a beloved part of our school community. Their children were kind, respectful, and made tremendous progress in Spanish throughout their time with us. Their goal was to learn Spanish in order to live in Cartago and minister to the people of Costa Rica. It was inspiring to witness their growth as a family, both in language and in their passion for serving others.
We were truly honored to be part of their journey.

Staff Training and Team Building Day
April also brought an exciting opportunity for our staff to gather for a special day of training and team building.
Together, we spent time learning, sharing, and reflecting on the history and values that make CISA unique. These foundational principles have helped create an environment where all kinds of Christians from around the world can come to learn Spanish and feel at home.
This year marks CISA’s 20th Anniversary, making this event even more meaningful. It was a wonderful opportunity to remember our beginnings, celebrate God’s faithfulness, and look ahead to the future of the ministry.
The Ricoy and Hughes Families
In May, we had the pleasure of graduating two wonderful families who studied with us for two weeks.
The Ricoy family returned to CISA for a second time, accompanied by their friend Maria and her son, Liam. This family holds a very special place in our hearts. Their love for Latin America, their passion for missions, and their genuine care for people are evident in everything they do.
We always treasure the opportunity to spend time with them and look forward to seeing them again in the future.

We are grateful for every student and family that God brings to CISA. Thank you for being part of our story and for supporting the mission of equipping believers through language and cultural immersion.
Blessings,
The CISA Team
