Customized Classes for Every Member of the Family

– Parents (Adults): Classes by Spanish level.
– Teens (13–17): Age-appropriate groups or adult classes (based on level).
– Children (5–12): Fun, interactive lessons.
– Babies & Toddlers (0–4): Loving daycare with Spanish play and songs.
– Couples: Placed in a class according to their level.

A Typical Week in Tuis

– Morning Classes: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
– Afternoons: Choose from enriching activities:
   • Intensive Spanish (Adults/Teens)
   • Family Cooking Class (All Ages)
   • Cross-Cultural Missions (Adults/Teens)
   • Adventure Fitness at Finca Canaanda (Families & Couples)
   • Medical Spanish & Spanish for Teachers

Tuis is a peaceful rural town surrounded by mountains, rivers, and coffee farms, offering families the perfect setting to experience authentic Costa Rican life. Known as one of the safest districts in Costa Rica, Tuis provides a welcoming community where parents and children can feel secure while learning Spanish and enjoying the beauty of nature.

A Private, Affordable Option for Families & Couples

For families and couples seeking the balance of cultural immersion and personal space, the CISA Rental Homes offers several housing options within a Spanish-speaking community.

Your Home Away From Home

CISA offers a variety of rental homes for families, ranging from cozy apartments for couples to spacious houses with three or four bedrooms, making it easy to find an option that fits every budget. All homes are located within walking distance of the school, providing both convenience and immersion in the local community. Families are responsible for their own meals and cleaning supplies, while utilities such as electricity, internet, water, and garbage are billed separately. A non-refundable reservation fee is required to secure a home.

Optional Housekeeping Service

For families, we highly recommend our trusted housekeeping service, which allows parents and children to focus fully on their Spanish studies while enjoying a smooth and restful stay. Available Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, families may hire a trusted housekeeper for an additional fee. This service includes preparing two daily meals with the food provided by the family, cleaning the home, and doing laundry. Highly recommended, it allows families to enjoy a smooth and restful stay while focusing on their Spanish studies.

The Homestay Experience for Couples or Small Families

Living with a Costa Rican host family is one of the most rewarding ways to experience authentic cultural immersion. Students enjoy three daily meals (with lunches at CISA on school days), laundry service, internet access, and a private bedroom with either a shared or private bathroom. More than just housing, the homestay experience allows students to become part of the family, joining in daily activities and practicing Spanish in a natural, supportive environment. Most homes are located within walking distance or just a short bus ride from the school. Before arrival, every student receives a Homestay Profile with a photo and description of their host family, helping them feel prepared and warmly welcomed.
